A bit of history
My wife and I already met in school because of a common adiction
to playing cards. Kristin nearly always lost and had to pay me.
One day she decided to invite me to cinema instead of paying and the whole
story began. Now it is nearly 10 years later, we are married
and we have two wonderful grils, Sarah and Aïsha, and I would not
want to miss a single day with them.
After our school time Kristin started to study sports in Munich
and I had to do my civil service in an old people's home. Well to
say the least, I had already more fun in my life. After these 15
month I started to study physics in Munich and because it was the
most convenient I decided to move into
the flat of Kristin. This was a 4m by 4m by 4m cube which was
meant for one person, but after living together for three years in
this cube we knew that we fit together.
Just as Kristin was about to finish her studies Sarah (1998) was born and
we moved into a bigger appartment in the outskirts of Munich. I
still had three years to go before I could finish my studies, but we
managed this time quite well. Kristin started at this time her
second study (economics) at the FernUniversität in Hagen.
For my master thesis (German: Diplom) we left Germany and found a
new home in Geneva/Switzerland where the European Organization for
Nuclear Research (CERN) is located. In the next year
after our arrival in Geneva our second daughter Aïsha (2001) was
born and the life started to become even more interesting.
After three years in total in Geneva we were looking into leaving
Europe and finding a new home in Canada. We had already all the
papers and were ready to apply for the Canadian skilled worker
program as we had to find out that at that moment the economical
situation in Canada was very bad and we decided to stay in Germany
until the situation in northern America would improve again.
I found a job at a bank in Munich and we decided to live in a
naturally grown (I am talking about "over centuries" compared to
"in the last 50 years") bavarian town outside of Munich. From here
we are looking forward to see the next surprises that life will
bring...
